With MinecraftEdu, are video games the future of education?

Microsoft announced on Tuesday that it had acquired MinecraftEdu, an education-oriented version of the popular video game.

It’s amazing to watch kids "play" with Minecraft. This move by Microsoft looks like a good step forward to making Minecraft a tool for learning. However, there will be a classroom cost associated with it – $5/user.
