I like this article. In using the term “Personalized” educators are doing something to kids. “Personal” means learning is something kids do for themselves. In using the terms “Personalized” and “Personalization” we are coining how we instruct “students”. Okay I’m using lots of quotes here for a reason.
What if we change “students” to “learners”? Learners owning and driving their learning. I’m writing a book on personalizing learning with Kathleen McClaskey and have been pondering the title, the focus, etc.
What we see is similar to this article but the how to do it is what teachers need. That’s what we’re going to write about. How to make learning personal!
Thanks Stephen for sharing Will’s message!
